Baku icon-theme by robrene Baku icon-theme by robrene
This is the Baku GTK icon-theme. It is the collection of all my favourite tango-styled icons, made into a theme so you can enjoy it too!

It holds many icons not seen in any other icon-theme so far!

Also...
Picon
Picon is a little graphical tool I wrote that allows you to change the folder icon set and the branding of your theme really easily. To run it, run ' picon.py ' from the base of the theme folder. For more information, read the README file.

Disclaimer
I merely collected a lot of icons and packaged them for your pleasure. I also tweaked already existing icons by other artists to fit in this theme.

Best icon theme. Absolutely love it.
I also like Tango and elementary. They all rock.
I use this one for gtk2-greeter for LightDM on Arch Linux because it has all icons (logout/shutdown/accecibility...).

Good collection. Most of these are Gnome not Tango. I plan to convert those that fit and are missing from the Tango Patcher for Windows. Wait for windows ICO release on my profile.

Excellent work! I've begun many times to make my own custom Tango theme, but I never have the time or the energy to quite finish it. This is exactly what I need. Great work and thanks for sharing!

XP Version of this theme would be perfect. Can I use this on XP?

Sorry, I have no idea how Windows XP works. This is a collection of a bunch of icons and a text file describing the folder structure, which is then read by the toolkit. I'm guessing you could use the icons for the few gtk applications you might be using. Feel free to port it yourself to whatever the default Windows toolkit uses.

GTK applications belong to Linux, I think. However, I am not acquainted with Linux :(

Is there a chance that this can get ported to be used in KDE 4, I really love this theme and would love to use it in my system. Thanks in advance.

Man, this icons are really good! Just one little thing: folder icons doesn't show as they are on this set in awn, they look like default gnome folders. Besides that, this is an impressive work! Using right now.

Yes, I've come to notice that certain applications (Thunar also for example) don't use standard names for certain icons, I'm guessing because the Icon Naming Specification isn't finished yet. Originally I wasn't going to fix my theme for those apps, but rather wait for those apps to look for the right icon. I've started adding some extra fixes to the icon-theme due to popular demand anyway though. There might be an update sometime soon that includes this and a few other fixes that I've made.

Good selection ;)
The amazing thing is Picon, really, good job. I don't know what you're planning about Picon, but it would be awesome to be able to change more and more icons by that way, and even be able to choose an icon that is not located in the Picon folders.

I'm glad you like it :) There are a few things I had in mind if I were to continue developing picon, but at the moment it is on hold I'm afraid. I just wanted to get a little tool out that allows the two most wanted customisations for icon-themes.

The things I was thinking about doing is making it a real application instead of a little stand alone script. Features I'd add is to allow it to work on any icon-theme, and more possible customizations. They would stil come in sets though (icons of all sizes, and in some cases for all different states [folder, folder-open, etc]), so it wouldn't be trivial to allow the user to just open an icon they saved somewhere. Seeing it would be a real application i could probably allow for certain "packs" to be imported so other people can create icon-packs instead of complete themes and then users can combine whatever icons they like together with a different icon-theme as a base.

Still, this project is not a priority right now, I might work on it during a semester break, or someone else could pick it up and work on it some more. After all, the little I did is released under GPL

I have no coding skills so I could not help, but if any other kind of help is needed, feel free to ask, I'm really enthusiastic about Picon, cause I've been looking for a long time for some graphical tool...browsing icon themes, and renaming files can get very annoying :D
